MARTINSVILLE, VA – Lee Pulliam may not spend much time behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car anymore, but he is making the most of his lone 2025 start at Martinsville Speedway.

Pulliam paced Friday’s ValleyStar Credit Union 300 final practice with a fastest lap of 19.869, besting Landon Pembelton’s 19.937 second lap.  Blake Stallings (20.009), Connor Hall (20.019) and Conner Jones (20.023) rounded out the top-five.  Landon Huffman, Cody Kelley, Sam Yarbrough, Tristan McKee and Carson Loftin made up positions six through 10 in final practice.

“All the guys worked super hard,” Pulliam told Short Track Scene.  “P2 first practice but I told them, it ain’t where it needs to be and we worked really really hard trying to get it where I needed it feel-wise.  We were really close there.  I was not perfect but we were really close, so, just feels good to be in a racecar.  It’s where my heart and soul is.  It’s a pleasure to be a part of this sport in any way, but when you get to drive these things, it’s just a feeling you can’t describe.  It hurts a little bit that I don’t race on Sundays but I love that I can come back and do something like this and have fun with my guys.”

Trevor Ward was fastest in the first practice session with a 20.018 second lap.

Qualifying is set to commence at 7pm.  While skies are clear as of 6pm, there is a lingering threat of rain and severe weather which could impact qualifying.  If the qualifying session is not completed, the grid for Saturday’s 25-lap heat races will be determined by the final practice times.
