Chase Elliott opens 2025 with Speedfest Cordele start

Chase Elliott is returning to Speedfest at Cordele Motor Speedway next weekend (January 17-18) seeking a fourth victory in the annual winter Super Late Model event in south-central Georgia.

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series has always enjoyed the event, especially in the years it has been contested near his Dawsonville, Georgia home, where he has won twice at Cordele and once when the race was contested at Lanier Motorplex.

Elliott has wins in Speedfest in 2011, 2014 and 2015. The Hendrick Motorsports driver also won the SpeedFest Pro Late Model race three times in a row between 2011 and 2013. He will once again drive for his childhood mentor and friend Ricky Turner, who has shepherded nearly every race he has contested in the discipline.

The Super Late Model race has already received entry blanks from World Crown 300 winner Michael Hinde, two-time Oxford 250 winner Cole Butcher and Hudson Bulger. The race is annually contested by the likes of Bubba Pollard and Stephen Nasse.

Fellow Cup Series driver Ross Chastain will once again compete in the Pro Late Model race for Rackley WAR as well. Chastain finished second to Nasse in the Pro Late race last season.
