Gavan Boschele emerged victorious in the Pro Late Model Prelude to the Florida Governor’s Cup on Saturday night at New Smyrna.
The race ran the full 100 laps clean and green with Boschele methodically reeling in and passing through the top-three during the course of a long green flag run. The victorious was especially rewarding for Boschele, who is no doubt still reeling from his CARS Tour disqualification at Tri-County, and a reputation for a hard-driving style, to win for the first time in a Late Model in such a professional way.
Each of his passes on Saturday night were calculated and coolly efficient, including on Rackley WAR teammate Dawson Sutton, Hudson Bulger and then around Jason Vail for the lead with 22 laps to go.
The Florida Governor’s Cup itself is on Saturday afternoon at New Smyrna and features the Super Late Model division.
