CARS Tour and FloRacing have partnered together to introduce the “FloRacing Field Master” award for both the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions.
The award will be given to whichever driver makes the most green flag passes in the race. At the end of each race weekend, the winners of the award will receive $750. There will also be a $2,000 bonus given to the Pro Late Model driver and Late Model Stock driver with the most green flag passes on the year.
“The CARS Tour is the most competitive and exciting pavement short track series out there these days, and we’re thrilled to be able to give these drivers an extra incentive to make things even more competitive and exciting,” said Michael Rigsby, FloRacing’s General Manager. “We’re excited to see how each race plays out moving forward as drivers go after the FloRacing Field Master award, and we can’t wait to see how things play out at the end of the year with an extra $2,000 on the line as well.”
At the first race of the season at New River All-American Speedway, Chad McCumbee won the award in the Late Model Stock race with 39 green flag passes and Dylan Garner won it in the Pro Late Model with 14 passes.
“The CARS Tour is thrilled to implement the FloRacing Field Master award for both divisions in 2025,” said Karsyn Elledge, Partnerships and Marketing Manager for the CARS Tour. “FloRacing has consistently helped to elevate many aspects of our series over the last couple of years and this is another to add to the list. The Field Master bonus provides an opportunity to reward drivers who may have had an unfortunate start to the night, but worked hard to rebound. The most important thing to us and our partners is how we can give back to the competitors in a way that genuinely makes a difference, so we greatly appreciate FloRacing stepping up in a way that enables us to do that.”
FloRacing’s broadcast and social media will keep track of the award, and at each race weekend, drivers will be put on a leaderboard. During driver intros at each event, a fan will be choses to add the driver who won the award at the last race to the leaderboard.
The next CARS Tour race will be Saturday, May 29 at the quarter-mile bullring of Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, North Carolina. It will be a stand alone event for the Late Model Stocks. Fans can purchase tickets online right now or at track on race day or watch live on FloRacing.
