Jonathan Bouvrette dominated the American Canadian Tour 75-lap season finale on Saturday night at Thompson Speedway while Rich Dubeau wrapped-up the season championship with a 12th-place result.
Despite late challenges from Mark Jenison and Woody Pitkat, Bouvrett was able to hold on for the victory.
The race featured calamity from the start when Ryan Morgan and Tom Carey III got together on the first lap — triggering a pileup that involving six cars.
On the second lap, Peyton Lanphear got into the Turn 1 wall to bring out another quick yellow flag.
Bouvrette took the lead on the restart before another two-car spin brought out the third caution in as many laps. A stack-up on the ensuing restart caused yet another yellow flag. By lap 10, six yellow flags had already been displayed.
Eight would come out over the course of 75 laps.
The field became more orderly after the decision was made to eliminate double-file restarts from the race. Bouvrette stretched his lead out over the field until lap 33, when another spin brought out the seventh yellow flag of the night. Again, Bouvrette would dominate until Scott Payea got turned around with only 10 laps to go.
