The Winter Showdown precedes a nine-race regular season …

SRL Southwest Tour

SPEARS Southwest Tour Series presented by Lucas Oil officials revealed the Super Late Model schedule for the 2019 season.

The 19th season of Super Late Model racing in the southwest region will begin with the exhibition Winter Showdown on Feb. 1-2 and close out its regular season championship at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 23 — both nationally televised events on MAVTV.

“We had a record year for car count in 2018,” said SRL’s Larry Collins. “With the addition of the increased television coverage by MAVTV, the quality race tracks that are hosting us this year and our new association with Lucas Oil, 2019 should be a great year for the series.”

OTHER TOURING SCHEDULES: CARS Tour | CRA Super Series | ARCA Midwest Tour | TUNDA SLM Series| PASS North & National | NASCAR Modified Tour | NASCAR Pinty’s Series | Pretoria Race Alliance Super Series Southern Super Series

Other MAVTV events will include both Madera events on June 8 and Sept. 28, the Winter Showdown and the June 29 race at Kern County Raceway. These events will all air on a tape-delayed basis, although several of them are likely to air live on the Lucas Oil Racing platform.

“With the support of our contingency sponsors, we’re also able to continue the Winner’s Bonus for 2019, which pays a minimum of $5,000 to the winner of each race,” Collins added.

The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will make two annual stops to all its host racetracks, except for All-American Speedway in Roseville, Calif., which will host a single event on April 13.

REGIONAL SCHEDULES: South Boston | Langley | Motor Mile | Hickory | Kingsport | Montgomery

The series will also continue its popular loyalty program for the eighth consecutive season. The SPEARS Frequent Flyer Program will award teams a minimum of $1,000 for starting a Southwest Tour Series main event after they have competed in three consecutive series races.

Jeremy Doss outdueled Eric Schmidt for the $10,000 champion’s check, and both are expected to resume that battle in 2019.
