Late last week, Woody Pitkat announced that he would remain in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this season with his newly formed team, Gunsmoke-Stebbins Racing, but a change of plans will have him instead drive for Tommy Baldwin Racing on Friday at Stafford.

Pitkat announced on Tuesday on Facebook that he would replace Donny Lia in the No. 7NY in the Stafford 150.

The Gunsmoke-Stebbins Racing No. 52 will now make its debut on August 0 at the Bud King of Beers 150 at Thompson Speedway.

“I can’t thank Tommy Baldwin enough for the opportunity and look forward to working with him,” Pitkat said in a posting on the Woody Pitkat Racing Facebook page. “Also thanks to my team for letting me do this and push forward to prepare our car for Thompson.”

Pitkat began the season with Goodie Motorsports but they parted way on July 15 after the Eastern Propane & Oil 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Pitkat is currently ninth in the NASCAR championship standings and has repeatedly stated his desire to patchwork the rest of the season together.
