Ty Majeski has won five straight ARCA Midwest Tour Super Late Model events and the Sanctioning Body has responded with a $1,000 bounty next weekend at Grundy County Speedway.

The bonus will be in place on July 15 when the series promotes the Wayne Carter Classic 100 in Morris, Illinois. If the 22-year-old NASCAR NEXT driver wins yet again, he and crew chief Toby Nuttleman will claim their own bounty. For any driver to claim the bounty, Majeski must be on the lead lap at the end of the race.

Majeski is also the defending winner of the race, adding to the urgency according to series director Gregg McKarns.

“I keep an eye on what fans say on social media and after Ty won his fifth ARCA Midwest Tour event in a row last Saturday night at Rockford Speedway, many started talking about when my dad (John McKarns) would put a bounty on Trickle, Joe Shear or any driver on a hot streak,” McKarns said. “So, I thought, you know, we are going back to the track where the first ever ARTGO race took place, why not have a bounty on our three-time defending champion and winner of our last five races.

“We want Ty to be beaten fair and square. The driver that beats him and gets the $1,000 bonus will earn it and can say they ended his streak with no questions.”

Early Bounty Hunters include last Friday night’s Grundy feature winner and 2016 ARCA Midwest Tour point runner-up Paul Shafer, Jr, a determined Austin Nason whom Majeski stole the win away from at Rockford last Saturday night, defending Grundy Champion Anthony Danta, Joe Shear Classic winner and former ARCA Midwest Champ Andrew Morrissey, two time Grundy Champion Ricky Baker and multi-time Chicagoland Champion Eddie Hoffman.

Qualifying gets underway at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. The Mid-American Stock Car Series and Illini Midgets will also be in action.
